Erica Synths BBD Delay/Flanger

It’s been awhile since I’ve build this one. I don’t use it that often in patches. I do need more effects in my rack so it’s kinda strange I don’t use this that much. I have to look it up if it still needs calibrating but the sound it makes doesn’t really get to me. Maybe I will update this post if I have played with it more or when i sold it. Maybe I need to change the led’s to diodes for more overdrive.

Difficulty to build: Hard (or medium if you are skilled). It has multiple pcb’s and not the best build manual.

A lot of post about different modules

I have been posting different modules to this site and give a little bit of information on them. These modules are all in my rack and for the menu item “My Rack” I need them as separate posts. I tend to add more in the upcoming weeks as there is more in my rack ;). I might list a few as open for offers/sale. So if you looking for some DIY modules that can’t be bought as build modules and have seen them in my rack. Send me a email or thru the contact page if you want to buy any of the modules listed as open for offers.

If you want more information on them please let me know in the comments.

Small update: When writing a few post on haraldwerks modules I noticed I never put up all panel files. So more stuff to do adding panel files for some of these modules.

Soundforge Braids

Open for offers

I love these Braids VCO. The original design is by Mutable Instruments. Soundforce.nl have made it into a THT version with a 12bit DAC. The DAC does sound great for being only 12 bits. It functions like the normal Braids, it even looks the same but is far less hard to build, no SMD parts on this one. It needs a blue pill (Arduino on steroids) . It does requeir some skill to program it. I build five of these, and open for offers on one or two of them. It was just fun to build.

Difficulty to build: Hard. You need to program a blue pill.

Timo Rozendal Thomas Henry’s Bass++

This is one of the modules I always wanted to have. Just because I have read the book from Thomas Henry before I started on my DIY eurorack journey. This module is designed by Timo Rozendal based on the Thomas Henry design from his book. From the little contact I had with Timo he really seems a nice guy. This module can deliver anything from bassdrum’s to tom sound and anything in between.

Erica Synths VCA

You can’t have enough VCA thay all said. Well this one is a dual VCA with a mixed output. The VCA it self I do like and use it a lot in my patches. This was one the the DIY version of Erica product I did like to build. The spacing of the components is fine one this one. I have four or five of them in my rack. Not a lot to say it’s a good VCA.

Weston Audio B1 Kick/Bass voice.

A bass drum and a bass voice all in one. This one was nice to build I has multiple pcb’s but it’s well ordered. The manual is not the best but also not the worst. I need to use this module more then I do right now. I had it in my rack for a while not calibrated. Took it out just a week ago and did calibrate it. I had some trouble getting the sweet spots maybe it’s better now it’s calibrated not sure yet.

I can do bass lines and kick drums, when if done some more testing I will update on how I feel about this this module for now it’s not fair to give it a rating. There is a new version of this module released by Weston Audion the B2. I hope to get my hand on that one two just to be able to compare them myself. I think you can’t buy the B1 anymore.

Difficulty to build: Medium, some may find it hard. Has multiple pcb’s, can take up some time but well ordered and spaced
